Loscon 47 will take place once again at the Marriott Los Angeles Airport Hotel, 5855 W. Century Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
It’s only 5 minutes West of the 405 FWY and 8 minutes North of the 105 FWY. For those fans travelling by air, there’s a 24 hour complimentary Marriott shuttle from LAX.

Staying at the Marriott will only $130 plus tax and fees (14% state/local tax, $0.45 CA Tourism fee and 1.5% LA County Tourism Assessment Fee) per night for single/double/triple/quad rooms.
Free in room wi-fi comes with this rate as well as in and out privileges for parking.
Why stay at the Hotel
Loscon does not have set hours. Programming runs all day. Events can run late into the night. Some rooms, like tabletop gaming, electronic gaming, filking, and the film/anime room have hours that run into the early morning. And then there are those wonderful parties, which run late into the night. These fine distractions and the connection with new and old friends that you’ll want to share as much time as possible with are all made so much easier to enjoy when you’ve a room only steps away from the elevators.
Having a place where you can catch your breath, refresh yourself, check your email at leisure on the free wireless, and quickly access everything you’ll bring in order to enhance your comfort and pleasure during Loscon.
Just as important is the fact that the function space we use at the LAX Marriott (which we have every square inch of) does not come free. The code we have for Loscon not only gets us a reduced rate to stay at the hotel, a reduced parking charge with in-n-out privileges, free in room wireless internet; it also gives us the credit for the rooms with the hotel that add up to their giving Loscon the function space for free.
If we make our room block the space is all ours on a complimentary basis. If we do not, then we have to pay a graduated charge, going up, up, up, for the space. We’d much rather spend your membership money on you than with the hotel.
If you stay at the hotel there’s the immediacy of being right with your fellow members throughout the convention. If you stay at the hotel with your fellow members, we get the space for free. For those great reasons, please take a room at the LAX Marriott when you become a member of Loscon 47.
About the LAX Marriott
The convention space is almost all on one floor just below the lobby, with the remaining ballroom at the back of the lobby, and you can easily access your sleeping room directly from the convention floor by one of 6 swift elevators.
The sleeping rooms in this hotel are very generously apportioned, the LAX Marriott having been built over 40 years ago when hotels were still built with a customer’s comfort in mind. The pool is gigantic. There’s a large, well equipped gym and a small Laundromat.
Parking at Loscon
If you are staying at the hotel, and are registered under the Loscon room block, with our special reduced rate, then the price for parking is $20.00 (plus the 10% city tax) a day per car. When you check-in your room and register your car, please make sure you receive the correct reduced rate.
Please double-check that you have the correct room rate and that your information is correct. It’s always a good idea to confirm everything when you check-in.
If you have a room at the LAX Marriott and the parking is full, go up the ramp to the lobby entrance and tell the parking attendants. They are required to accept guest cars and park it, while only charging you the $20.00 rate.
Please make sure the communication is clear and that they are not charging you to valet park. If the valet parking attendants deny you a space, please let the Loscon committee know (please get the attendants name) so we can address this issue with the hotel.
This overflow parking only applies to members who are staying in the LAX Marriott at our special Loscon reduced room rate.
If you are commuting to the convention from home, the rate is also $20.00 (and the 10% tax) a day.
Please do not leave the hotel if you have unresolved issues with your parking charges. The place to go to resolve parking issues if you are staying in the hotel is the front desk. If you are here just for the day, please go to the valet parking stand outside the lobby doors.
Please report parking problems to the Loscon staff in the Boardroom on the ballroom level.
In-n-out privileges only go with those staying in the hotel.
